NEWS & INFORMATION
My Fellow Civil War Reenactors,
During my tenure as Colonel of the 6th Regiment I too often found myself using this or other similar forums to delivery the difficult news that one of our own had passed. I remember each such missive. I have been called upon again this evening to once again deliver such sad news.
Earlier today (9/9/19) my friend, our brother-in-arms, Colonel Paul Plante was suddenly called away to his eternal rest with our beloved God and Father. We can take comfort in ...the fact that he slipped these terrestrial bonds in the company of his beloved wife and best friend, Trish. As I write this, we believe that Paul suffered a heart attack and my fervent prayer is that he suffered little.
Paul was a bear of a man and protected his loved ones as such. He was fiercely proud of his service to our Nation as a United States Marine and Paul loved Trish and the girls with an even deeper ferocity. His dedication to the Liberty Greys and the ANV was complete, as a member of 1st MD, as my Sergeant Major and as your Colonel. Please join me in extending our love, prayers and condolences to Trish at this difficult time. Trish, you were blessed with the true love of an adoring partner.
As information on arrangements become available they will be communicated. For now it is my hope and belief that St. Peter greeted our brother at the gates with the greatest words he could hear: Semper Fi, Marine. Job well done! Now stand down from your final post and rest.
Yours In Service,
The Liberty Greys, 6th Regiment, 1st Division, ANV
